Faith in Action: Global Engagement Through Lasallian Education
SMC faculty contributed to the success of the Huether Conference for Lasallian Educators held in Washington, D.C., on November 21-24.
Professor Shyam Kamath was honored as the Lasallian Educator of the Year for the District of San Francisco for his work in promoting global education and global citizenship.
Jennifer Pigza, director of the Graduate Program in Leadership for Social Justice, served on the planning committee.
Professor Cynthia Ganote presented “Global Citizenship through Virtual Immersion (SMC and Sri Lanka).”
Professor Shawny Anderson, with two SMC alumnae, Danielle Lucier and Claire Konecny (both Boston College graduate students), presented “Toward Conscientious Collaboration: Lasallian Action in Communities of Extreme Need.”
Other SMC participants included Brother Glenn Bolton and Professor Carole Swain.
