A Virtual Cathedral for Digital Age Pilgrims
Brother Charles Hilken, chair of the history department at Saint Mary's College of California, was quoted in an article in the Los Angeles Times about a computer re-creation of the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in Spain. The project at UCLA was inspired by pilgrimages over the centuries to the Cathedral, which many Christians believe was built on the tomb of St. James, one of the 12 apostles.
"He's one of the closest to Jesus. Very often, Jesus would take only three people with him: Peter, James and John. They seem to be the closest," said Brother Charles.
