Saint Mary's receives grant, improves recycling. Under an $8,650 grant from the Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority,the College purchased 595 recycling bins for use in the residence halls and conducted an educational campaign to promote recycling. The amount of material recycled increased significantly, from 27,720 lbs. between July and December of 2007, to 48,284 lbs. during the same period in 2008.
