"Flick the Switch" Dorm Energy Competition Concluded, April 23,2008
For a two week period, Saint Mary’s College students in 22 monitored dorms competed to see which dorm could reduce its electricity use by the largest percentage. The goal of the competition was to educate, motivate and empower students to develop attitudes, strategies and behaviors that lead to electricity conservation.
The Winning Dorm
Thille Hall came out on top by cutting energy use by 28 percent. Seven dorms cut use by more than 15 percent. The winning dorm won free tickets to Gaelstock, a major concert on Sat., May 3.
