biography
Before assuming her current duties in spring 2004, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs Frances M. Sweeney was the dean of the School of Liberal Arts since 1999, a professor of Spanish, and a member of the Saint Mary's College faculty since 1994.
Sweeney received a B.A. in Spanish from Saint Mary's College, an M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury College in Vermont, and a Ph.D. in Hispanic linguistics from the University of Texas. She is the co-author of 2 books, Modelos: An Integrated Approach to Proficiency (2003) and La Clave (2005).
