What should you bring to Summer Bridge?
Things you SHOULD bring
- Medical insurance card/information & medications needed; and
- Valid identification (state ID or driver’s license).
Clothing (Hot during the day, cool in the evenings)
- Do not bring ALL of your clothes & shoes;
- Comfortable for warm weather;
- Comfortable shoes;
- Work out gear, if needed;
- Light jacket or sweatshirt (it gets cool in the evenings); and
- One change of nice clothing for special event (fellas – slacks, polo shirt; ladies – summer dress/skirt/slacks, heels not necessary).
Room
- Alarm clock;
- Bedding (twin extra-long) - pillow, sheets, blanket, mattress pad;
- Towels and wash cloths/loofas;
- Toiletries – toothbrush, toothpaste, feminine products, deodorant;
- Clothes hangers;
- Laundry bag and laundry supplies;
- Fan; and
- Air freshener.
School Supplies
- Computer/laptop & printer (if you have them);
- Desk supplies - paper, pencils, notebooks, stamps, lined paper, computer paper (if you bring a printer), stapler, Post-It notes;
- Binders;
- Calculator (graphing calculator if planning to take calculus);
- Backpack; and
- Daily planner for the school year.
Camping Trip
- Flashlight;
- Sleeping bag (contact the HP Office by July 1, 2008 if you do not have a sleeping bag);
- Insect repellant;
- Waterproof shoes;
- Sunscreen lotion;
- Swim trunks/bathing suit;
- Plastic bag for wet clothes;
- Water bottle (good idea to keep cool throughout summer bridge); and
- Medical insurance card/information & medications needed
Optional things you MAY bring:
- You will have access to the campus computer labs, but you may find it easier to work after hours with your own computer;
- Packaged snacks, in case you get the munchies while studying late at night (There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms);
- Sports equipment: basketball, football, volleyball, etc.;
- Cell phone & charger; and
- Electronics (MP3 players, stereo, etc.).
Things you should NOT bring:
- Candles;
- Incense & incense burners;
- Halogen lamps;
- Hot plates, toaster ovens, George Foreman grills;
- Space heaters;
- Alcohol and/or illegal drugs; and
- Pets. Not even goldfish are allowed. Don’t even think about it.
