CILSA promotes, organizes, and supports service on behalf of social justice by members of the Saint Mary's community. This past year, 1,044 students contributed 28,742 hours of service on the local, state and international levels. Twenty-one SMC graduates also made year-long commitments to the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Capuchin Franciscan Volunteers, and Lasallian Volunteers. For more information, stop by the CILSA first floor Ferroggiaro office. CILSA staff will assist you in finding a service opportunity that matches your interests.

CILSA connects Saint Mary's with the outside community and coordinates and develops social action and social justice opportunities through Student and Academic Affairs. We engage all members of the Saint Mary's community in activities that respond directly to community needs, develop a deep personal, intellectual and spiritual understanding of social justice issues and inspire a life-long commitment to service. Our programs and services touch many students and communities in modest ways and provide smaller numbers of students with in-depth, off-campus experiences.
