message from the chair
Dear Students,
The Department of Business Administration of Saint Mary's College is committed to fully preparing its students for successful career pursuits in a world of commerce that is ever-changing and increasingly complex. Our majors have the opportunity to gain technical expertise in a liberal arts learning environment in which intellectual inquiry, ethical sensitivity and communication skills are nurtured by an accomplished and caring faculty.
We offer a general business program in which a thorough grounding in all functional areas of business can be attained. For those interested in pursuing a particular discipline in more depth, the Department of Business Administration offers an Honors Concentration Program in Financial Services. Consistent with preparing our majors to operate effectively in today's global economy, we offer an International Concentration in business administration. The International Concentration allows the student to choose a particular region for focused study as well as the opportunity to spend a semester abroad studying at an affiliated college or university in that chosen locale.
Opportunities for student engagement lie outside of the classroom as well, from internship opportunities to the Saint Mary's Business Club in which students can personally interact with executives from the local business community.
I would welcome the opportunity to answer any questions you might have about the offerings of the Department of Business Administration.
Best wishes,
Eric J. Kolhede, Ph.D.
