Saint Mary's College students Cristina Cabrera, Daniel Carrillo, John Diaz, Rene Mendoza
and Amy Romero took third place in the case study competition at the 2007 Association of
Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting Conference. The competition took place on
Monday, August 6, 2007 in Orlando, Fla. The Saint Mary's team was one of 25 teams chosen
to compete from universities and colleges around the country
"The judges commented on how amazed they were at our team's performance, given that this
was our first time in the competition and most other schools have competed for multiple
years," said faculty advisor and Saint Mary's Accounting chair Virginia Smith. "I have
never been prouder of Saint Mary’s College than I was on Monday at their presentation."
