Kalmanovitz School of Education Celebrates New Home, Embraces New Challenges

The Kalmanovitz School of Education is guided by the traditions set forth by St. John Baptist De La Salle, the patron saint of teachers, and embodies the Lasallian principle, “Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve.” Students, staff, faculty and alumni – one and all – are expected to be as committed to a high standard of professional ethics and proactive social responsibility as they are dedicated to academic excellence and professional competence. We educate our students to be highly effective and compassionate professionals through self-discovery and transformative development.

We are:

  • Lifelong learners in deed and in spirit, with a sense of commitment to diversity and opportunity for all
  • Social activists who define success as giving back
  • Community leaders who reflect the values and traditions of the College

We look for students who are eager to challenge themselves, are intellectually curious, demonstrate leadership and wish to become part of a diverse, collaborative learning community. We’re committed to providing the support and resources you need to fully enjoy and benefit from your experience. Our Admissions department makes the process as smooth and easy as possible. Our faculty members espouse a holistic, personalized teaching approach, guiding students toward meeting their personal and career goals one-on-one. We approach teaching as an interactive process that helps students learn how to analyze information, act on the basis of principles, and make informed judgments.

The Kalmanovitz School of Education offers an exemplary education via a comprehensive array of programs, including: teaching and administrative credentials, Master of Arts/Education degrees in Montessori Education, Counseling, Special Education, Reading/Language Arts, and Educational Leadership as well as a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
