early literacy small group instruction
For first-grade students who are not reading at grade level – but aren’t yet candidates for Reading Recovery, Early Literacy Small Group Instruction offers an opportunity for these students to receive addition help in reading and writing. In advanced work, teachers are prepared to lead these groups, building on what they’ve already learned as Reading Recovery teachers. Through a combination of discussion and observation (in-person and on video), teachers learn how to work successfully with this critical population of emerging readers.
