master of education in early childhood education
The Master of Education in Early Childhood Education is built upon a preliminary teaching credential (Multiple or Single Subject or Education Specialist) or a Montessori Certificate completed at Saint Mary’s. There are 3 specializations for this degree: Foundations of Early Childhood Education, Curriculum and Instruction, and Supervision and Leadership. A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in preschool or elementary education is required. Graduates may be qualified to apply for California Child Development Permits.
Note: EDUC 500 (Introduction to Educational Research) with a B or better and the Writing Proficiency Exam (WPE) are required for unconditional acceptance to this degree program. Students are advised to pass EDUC 500 and the WPE in the first semester of their graduate coursework.
Specialization in Foundations of Early Childhood Education
