doctorate in educational leadership (eD.D.)
The Doctorate in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) is a 60-unit program culminating in a dissertation. Students will complete 54 units of coursework and 6 units of dissertation research, and will also conduct an oral defense of their dissertation before a committee. Course work is designed to be completed in 3 years and is tailored to the needs of working professionals. An additional year is generally needed to complete the dissertation.
The Individual Interest Area enables students to focus on the issues that are most important and relevant to them. Students from many walks of life, including nursing, public health, human relations, higher education administration, and community colleges, are presently enrolled in the program. Our cohorts, which include up to 25 students, enable students to make their educational journey in the company of bright, thoughtful colleagues. Classes are offered on alternate weekends (Friday, 5-10 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) during the school year and during the summer months.
