About the Center
The Saint Mary’s College Leadership Center provides a unique setting for developing valuable leadership skills and capacities in individuals and organizations facing complex public and private sector challenges. At the Center, we view leadership as distributed throughout the organization, and that leadership development is the responsibility of everyone, and not just for a handful of designated leaders. When good leadership is the shared mindset of all participants, the most organic and effective leadership emerges and the most constructive contributions are made toward individual, organizational and societal health and wellbeing.
With these purposes in mind, the Center offers a diverse and stimulating range of open enrollment courses, seminars, and certificate programs in leadership development, as well as individual and group consultations and coaching. In addition, the Center is poised to develop strategic alliances with businesses, public sector organizations and agencies, as well as not-for profit and community groups to create customized programs for organizational and leadership development tailored to the specific needs of these groups and organizations.
Our Mission
With the creation of the Leadership Center, practitioners can now benefit from the personally enriching and professionally relevant education previously available only to enrolled students in Saint Mary’s highly-regarded Master of Arts in Leadership program. Center participants have access to the integration of contemporary academic theories of leadership, and organizational change with proven practical, action-based leadership skills.
The Leadership Center is a diverse consortium of individuals whose sole focus is developing better leadership today and for the future. Our leadership network consists of dedicated faculty, students, alumni, business professionals and community leaders, as well as inspirational speakers with backgrounds in a variety of fields and academic disciplines.
