The Writing Center
The Writing Center opens Wednesday, February 20 and continues through the last week of classes. Its hours are: Mondays through Thursdays from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. nightly in GV 320.
The Writing Center is a drop-in lab where students receive help from peer tutors who have been trained to listen, ask questions, and give constructive feedback on papers from across academic disciplines. Tutors aim to help students write their essays, not to write essays for them. The writer, not the tutor, remains responsible for the completed essay.
The Writing Center is open to all Saint Mary's College students, whether they are having difficulty with their writing or just want to get a second opinion. Faculty will receive a copy of the attendance sheet if any of their students visit the Writing Center.
