Graduate Liberal Studies tuition & fees
The Graduate Liberal Studies program consists of 11 3 -unit courses plus a 3 -unit final project for a total of 36 units. Tuition for new students is $700.00 per unit. Tuition is handled on a pay-as-you-go basis, and you may pay for your courses in 3 equal monthly installments each term.
There is a non-refundable $50.00 application fee that is waived if you've earned a previous degree at Saint Mary’s College. Within 30 days of acceptance into the program you must pay a deposit equal to the cost of 1 unit. There's also a one-time materials fee of $150.00, payable upon registration. The deposit is credited against the balance due for your first term. The average cost of books is $125.00 to $150.00 per course. Upon completion of all requirements students pay a $250.00 candidacy fee to cover the costs of thesis preparation, commencement, diplomas, and other expenses.
Full time teachers in Catholic elementary or secondary schools are granted a 50% tuition waiver for up to 6 units each year.
You may apply for a federally guaranteed student loan through the Financial Aid Office. You may complete the required Saint Mary’s financial assistance form on-line there. You may complete the required Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form on-line at www.FAFSA.ed.gov.
