The postmark deadline for applications for the 2009-2010 academic year is January 31, 2009.
Tuition for the 2008-2009 academic year is $15,750. Applicants are automatically eligible for the Program's merit-based scholarships.
Students are admitted on the basis of original manuscripts and undergraduate records. Our students come to the program with degrees from fields as diverse as biology, English, economics and history, but most have had some exposure to a writing workshop. Students range in age from 22 to 65 and come from all over the world.
Applicants must submit the following:
- The completed application form, including your Statement of Purpose;
- Two letters of recommendation from people familiar with you and your work (letters may be mailed directly by the recommender, or mailed with your application materials in a sealed envelope signed by the recommender);
- Official transcripts from colleges you have previously attended, with proof of a Bachelor's degree (please note on your application if the name on your transcript is different from your current name);
- A manuscript of your work in the genre in which you are applying (no more than 10 pages of poetry or 25 pages of fiction or nonfiction). This manuscript will not be returned; and
- A $55 application fee (payable to Saint Mary's College).
