By pursuing the Music emphasis you'll have the opportunity to study with renowned musicians including David Ridge, principal bass trombone for the San Francisco Opera Orchestra; Mary Fettig, first woman to tour with the Stan Kenton Band;Adam Luftman, new Principal Trumpet with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, or jazz Guitarist Mike Williams. Our own full-time faculty includes Professor Lino Rivera, critically acclaimed pianist and Martin Rokeach, a nationally recognized composer. Campus Music Ensembles
Instrumentalists and singers with a range of experience and musical backgrounds can perform in department ensembles, including the Saint Mary's Chamber Musicians, Jazz Band, Gospel Voices of Saint Mary's, and our SATB choir,The NightinGaels. These ensembles are organized early each semester. We also offer Private Music Instruction to our music majors and minors, as well as those active in ensembles.
