theatre
The Theatre program at Saint Mary's produces several main-stage productions each year and offers many opportunities for student actors and stage technicians to develop skills and gain experience. Recent productions have included the West Coast premier of Marfa Lights by Octavio Solis. Our production of Lorca in a Green Dress was chosen for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival 2007 at the University of Southern Utah. Both plays were directed by Rebecca Engle. Furthermore, Solis has worked with our students in a team-taught writing/performance course in which students created and performed their own theatrical monologues under the direction of Engle. We have also produced: Our Town, Into the Woods, She Stoops to Conquer, Venus, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Firebugs. In Spring 2007 we brought the musical Urinetown to the stage under the direction of Reid Davis.
