Every Saint Mary's student completes 2 religious studies courses, including a required course in biblical literature. But the nature of religious studies classes at Saint Mary's often prompts students to want to learn more. A 5-course minor (the 2 required courses plus 3 more) or a major enables you to study any aspect of religion that interests you.
We offer a comprehensive study of Christianity, including its history and contemporary context. Religious study at Saint Mary's also encompasses Judaism, Islam, and Eastern religions, such as Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism. You'll have opportunities to attend religious observances for these other faiths, gaining further insights into religious beliefs, practices, and traditions.
