Major requirements
Chemistry majors can choose from 3 study options: the standard chemistry major, the biochemical concentration, and the environmental concentration. Students can choose to pursue other concentrations by working with their advisor to construct a coherent course of study and obtaining approval from the department chair. Chemistry majors are encouraged to take German to meet the College's language requirement.
The following courses are required for all 3 Chemistry majors:
- Lower Division
Chemistry 8, 9 (lab), 10, 11 (lab), 89; and
Mathematics 27, 28. - Upper Division
Chemistry 104, 106, 114, 115, 130.
The 3 Chemistry major concentration also have additional requirements of their own.
