Students who major in physics and astronomy join a continuum of theory and experimentation that stretches back for centuries. You'll sharpen your abilities to observe and interpret physical phenomena using synthesis, mathematical modeling and analysis, and you'll use the scientific method to understand and describe nature in its most elementary form. The department offers a physics major, an optional degree concentration in astrophysics and a physics minor.
