The January Term at Saint Mary's offers its students and professors special opportunities for academic exploration and enrichment. 4 options make these possible: 1) Travel courses, 2) On-Campus courses, 3) Independent Study courses, and 4) courses taken at other 4-1-4 colleges.
- Travel Courses. See the full list of 2009 course offerings. Freshmen are not eligible for international travel classes.
- On-Campus Courses. See the full list of 2009 course offerings.
- Independent Study Courses. These courses are proposed by students on special petition forms in conjunction with SMC faculty members who agree to oversee and evaluate the work done. Students are responsible for initiating the proposal. Read about the Independent Study Project Guidelines for more information. Only juniors and seniors may apply.
- Other 4-1-4 Colleges. Please contact the January Term office at (925) 631-4771 if you are interested in enrolling in a course at another 4-1-4 college.
