Cal Grants
State grants up to $9,708 annually for California students who qualify on the basis of financial need and academic achievement (generally a grade point average of 3.0 and above).
Federal Pell Grants
Grants from $600 to $5,350 are provided to very high need families who qualify based on a Federally established formula.

Grants for high need families who also qualify for Pell Grants
- Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)--up to $1300 annually Grants up to $750 to 1st year students and $1,300 to 2nd year students provide additional merit-based grants to qualified Pell Grant recipients.
- Federal National SMART Grants--up to $4,000 annually Grants up to $4,000 to 3rd and 4th year students majoring in math, science, technology, engineering or a critical foreign language and have at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Federal SEOG- amounts vary based on a Federally establish formula
