International Admissions Process & Deadlines

SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION
If you do not already have an application, please request one from the admissions office or apply online at www.smcadmit.com. If you use the online application, type in "000-00-0000" when asked for a social security number.
Your application packet must include the following:
- Application and US$55 application fee;
- Official copies of any examination results (IB, SAT, ACT, WAEC, SPM, STMP, etc;
- Official secondary school or college transcripts, mark sheets or other academic records, with a certified English translation;
- One academic letter of recommendation;
- Official TOEFL, IELTS or other English proficiency exam result; and
- Certification of Finances form
DEADLINES
Deadlines are important. Make sure to apply with adequate time for the entire evaluation and visa application and issuance process.
Most students begin their studies in the fall or spring term. The fall term begins in August and the spring term begins in February. It is more difficult for students to begin their studies in the January term.
Deadlines for international freshmen:
Fall term: May 15
January term: October 15
Spring term: November 15
Deadlines for international transfer students:
Fall term: July 1
January term: November 15
Spring term: December 15
Applications will be evaluated only when all documents have been received.
Students will be considered for admission after the deadline dates on a space-available basis.
