Men's basketball signs another Aussie:
On Nov. 8 Patrick Mills became the fifth Australian player recruited by Randy Bennett. The youngest player ever invited to the Australian national team, Mills is considered one of the the country's top basketball prospects.

Exhibit interprets the Talmud, the Sabbath:
The Hearst Art Gallery exhibits, "The Talmud: Marc Chagall and Ben Zion," and Beth Grossman's "The Sabbath Has Kept the Jews," focus on different elements of Jewish religious law and everyday life. The fascinating exhibits are on display through December 17.

 Joe Canciamilla '82 (EE) was profiled in a Nov. 28 article in the Contra Costa Times about his three terms in the Assembly as a Democrat from Pittsburg. In a wide-ranging interview, he said that he will likely run for state Senate in 2008.

New Piedmont police Capt. Scott Wyatt '02 (EE), who worked 27 years for the Sausalito Police Department, will oversee the community policing, dispatch and patrol operations in Piedmont, according to a Nov. 29 article in the Contra Costa Times.

John Husing '62, an economist who studies the Inland Empire, was quoted Nov. 23 in the Los Angeles Times about overnight shipping during the holidays and a Nov. 21 article in the Redlands Daily Facts about the housing market. Husing was named one of Southern California's 100 most powerful people by the L.A. Times earlier this year.

Shirley Everett '99 (MBA), the associate vice provost for residential and dining enterprises at Stanford University, is regarded as highly hands-on, business-minded and authoritative, according to a Stanford Report article on Nov. 8.

Rich Dutra '80 and his wife, Yvonne St. John, appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show on Nov. 9 in "Oprah's High School Challenge." The couple created a program called Challenge Day that helps a diverse group of students break down barriers.
