Late President Ford an honorary SMC alumnus: The late president Gerald R. Ford, eulogized on Jan. 2 for his modest and humble leadership as the nation's 38th president, was an honorary alumnus of Saint Mary's from his time at the Navy Pre-Flight School on campus. The story noted that “Foothill has thrived with players who mimic Sweeney: whip smart, nails tough, utterly committed...” Article Stephen Wackowski ’05 was featured in a Dec. 4 Roll Call article about his November trip to an Afghanistan hospital where he brought toys and clothing donated by his Senate committee staff colleagues. Wackowski previously served a tour of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq as an Air Force Reserve lieutenant. Article The Rev. Donald Southworth ’96 was installed as lead minister at Eno River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Durham, N.C., on Dec. 3, according to the Durham News. Previously, Southworth served as minister of the Northwest Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Atlanta.
