Alumni in the News: Muriel Maffre '04 was the subject of a front-page feature in the Jan. 21 San Francisco Chronicle Sunday Datebook. Maffre, who has danced with the San Francisco Ballet for 17 years, is hanging up her toe shoes in May as a principal dancer for the company according to the article. Maffre earned her bachelor's degree in performing arts in the Liberal Education for Arts Professionals (LEAP) Program at Saint Mary's and is now considering pursuing advanced academic study in visual arts curating. Article Troy L. Nunley '86 was profiled in a Dec. 23 Sacramento Bee article. Nunley, who grew up in poverty and became a Sacramento Superior Court judge at age 38, attributes his success to his mother's belief in the power of education.
