Class of '50 Think Tank with Scholarship Recipients
A group of alumni who refer to themselves as the "Class of '50 Think Tank" have raised more than $500,000 for their endowed scholarship in just 10 years.

De La Salle Week Highlighted by Carnival 4 Kids
More than 400 Saint Mary's student volunteers hosted 220 kids from Bay Area low-income schools and community organizations at the 5th Annual Carnival 4 Kids as part of De La Salle Week.
Former Poet Laureate Speaks at Integral Event
Robert Hass '63 commented on the war in Iraq and his hopes for peace during his Brother Robert Smith Lecture commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Integral Program at SMC.

Alum is New Dean of Campus Ministry
The first person to hold the newly created position will be Brother Michael Sanderl '96. He previously served as the assistant dean of mission at SMC. His new duties will include developing activities such as retreats, liturgies and social action projects.

Students' Rap Video Celebrates De La Salle's Mission
Three SMC students and a staff member collaborated on the video to celebrate De La Salle Week. It's been a big hit on campus and is featured on YouTube.

Scott Hardy is WCC Coach of the Year
Men's golf coach Scott Hardy was selected as WCC Coach of the Year for the 2006-2007 season. This is the fourth time in six years that he has received this honor. Four players on the men's golf team were named all-WCC.

Rugby Makes It to the Round of Eight
Men's rugby upset Army 31-27 in the national playoffs round of 16, but couldn't get past Navy in the next round, losing a close one by a score of 24-17. This year marks one of the most successful runs in the 50-year history of SMC Rugby.

The women's team ended the season with the highest conference ranking in team history.
