How does the government bailout of top financial institutions affect me? How will the bailout affect the election? Are we formally in a recession? What's going to happen with the economy in the next year? These questions were discussed at this breakfast event hosted by Roy Allen, Dean of the School of Economics & Business Administration. - September 23, 2008 - SMC 6th Annual Graduate Business Alumni Golf Tournament (Diablo Country Club, CA)

- August 20, 2008 - A Conversation About Venture Capital (Santa Clara, CA)
Approximately 60 alumni and friends gathered at the TechMart in Santa Clara to learn the inside scoop about how venture capital firms work. Distinguished panelists included Richard Ferrarri, cofounder of De Novo Ventures,a medical device and biotechnology VC firm; and Mark Kvamme from Sequoia Capital which was one of the original founders of Apple Computer, Cisco, Oracle and Electronic Arts. - August 4, 2008 - A Conversation About Entrepreneurship (Moraga, CA)
On Monday, August 4, the East Bay Graduate Business Alumni Chapter hosted a very well-attended "Conversation about Entrepreneurship". Panelists included Barbara Carey (SMC alum) who is a mother, businesswoman, entrepreneur, inventor (awarded over a dozen patents) and author; Peter Jackson, founder/CEO of Intraware; and Song Woo (SMC alum), founder/CEO of Lighthouse Management Group and one of San Jose Business Journal's "40 under 40" list of rising stars in Silicon Valley. - July 18, 2008 - Sunset Mixer (Moraga, CA)
Some graduate business alumni came on campus (Ferroggiaro Quad) to meet and greet the Graz, Austria MBA group as well as the first US Trans Global EMBA (T-GEMBA) cohort. Cocktails and appetizers were served while a harpist played music and guests enjoyed the sunset on a beautiful Friday evening in Moraga.
