In order to demonstrate and simulate the effects of alcohol intoxication, Peer Health Leaders set up a "Beer Goggle" Obstacle Course with Public Safety. Students were asked to put on beer goggles set at different levels of intoxication based on blood alcohol content (BAC). BAC levels ranged from .07 (just below the .08 BAC that will warrent a DUI in California) to .10 (heavy intoxication and loss of motor balance and coordination. Peer Health Leaders provided educational information regarding the dangers of heavy alcohol use and encouraged SMC students to stay safe, drink responsibly, and make wise choices.
