Business Administration is the most popular undergraduate major at Saint Mary’s College.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
Our Business Administration program will provide you with a broad education in the business sciences. We focus on studies in marketing, business strategy, and organization theory that emphasize the behavioral, structural, and contextual components of this challenging discipline. As a students you will also receive a solid grounding in business law, financial management, and business operations. Throughout the program you will have the opportunity to take electives including a survey of ethical, social, and political issues in business; an overview course in international business; and advanced courses in finance, law, and marketing. If you are interested in specializing your degree, we also offer concentrations in the following areas:
Marketing Concentration
A Marketing Concentration will allow you to acquire a thorough knowledge and understanding of the broad context in which marketing decisions should be made. Thus, in addition to taking specific marketing courses and other business related courses, the curriculum includes an interdisciplinary component, intended to familiarize students with external macro-environmental conditions and other factors that must be taken into account in order to formulate sound strategic marketing plans.
International Concentration
A International Concentration enables you to extend your career view beyond U.S. borders. This concentration gives you an opportunity to study other countries, languages, and cultures, and includes the experience of living abroad. Admission requires departmental approval.
Honors Program in Financial Services
The Honors Program is designed for students motivated to explore critical business disciplines in greater depth, focus, and intensity. This program utilizes the financial services industries as its integrating theme and is intended to prepare students for professional careers in a variety of fields, including finance, as well as for graduate study in business, law, and other disciplines.
Minor in Business Administration
As an intellectual discipline, a minor in business administration may have strong appeal for students who like working with groups and with other individuals and who enjoy issue and problem solving, are comfortable with relative solutions, and willing to shoulder responsibility.
