She was so productive and enthusiastic; they wanted her back for Summer 2011. As an intern, Nicole was exposed to the intellectual challenges that are inherent to the large law firm setting, as well as the rigors of deadlines. She quickly was identified as a high-potential employee, exceeding the firm’s expectations at every turn. Nicole was so inspired with the firm, the practice and all she was learning, that she made the decision to apply to law school for Fall 2012. She has been accepted to several prominent law schools, including UC Berkeley. Following the advice of her mentor in Cleantech at MoFo, as well as Chris Regan, the recruiter who spotted her, she will begin law school this August.
As an aside, when Nicole first interviewed with MoFo in Spring 2010, Chris recalls that her mother accompanied her to SF (not into the interview, but waited in the reception area) because she was so proud that her daughter had landed the interview. This was a testament to the solid educational experience Saint Mary's was providing for Nicole and the connection the Career Center has facilitated to open this door.
Nicole will be returning to Morrison & Foerster for a third summer this year as a Cleantech intern before she begins law school at UC Berkeley. Hopefully, she will someday return to MoFo as an Associate in the Cleantech practice. She is an amazing young woman, and truly the poster-child for what St. Mary’s has to offer a student.

- You always hear about the Career Center at SMC, wondering if it would be of any benefit to go in. One day, I was in the parking lot and noticed it was located right in front of me. Since I had some time, I thought I'd make an appointment just to see what they had to offer. Right away I was impressed with how friendly and willing everyone was to help! I made an appointment right away and realized how much they could help me in resume building, cover letters, internships, and interviews! I have taken full advantage of the Career Center ever since! Thanks to the Career Center, I have perfected my resume, cover letter, and have sent them out to various internships with great companies. So far, I have heard back from Target, who were impressed with my resume, and I have an interview in a week! What I want people to know about the Career Center is that they literally have SO much to offer. It is a great step toward your career after you graduate! At the Career center, I felt like everyone really cared about my sucess and they were willing to do everything they could to help me in my steps toward the future. My biggest advice is to go in and check out everything. You won't be let down.
