Catholic News Service Taps SMC's Michael Beseda For Insight On Fed Student Loan Rate Increase

The Catholic News Service (CNS) tapped Saint Mary's Vice Provost for Enrollment Michael Beseda for a national story about pending increase in the federal student loan interest rate. A one year Congressional extension of the current 3.4 percent interest rate is due to expire the beginning of July unless lawmakers take action. The federal interest rate on student loans will double to 6.8 percent on July 1.
