The housing move-in date will be on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 10 am to 3 pm as part of International Student Orientation. Please come to Brother Jerome West Building for check-in. The Center for International Programs (not the Housing office) will be welcoming and checking in students to their dorms. Please note that accommodation will not be available prior to Friday, August 23, 2013.

There are two orientations, First year student Orientation and International Student Orientation. You are required to attend both.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requires all international students to check-in with The Center for International Programs office and attend the mandatory International Student Orientation. The International Student Orientation will be held on St. Mary’s College of California campus from Friday, August 23, 2013 to Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Please be advised that weekend activities will be optional. You are automatically registered for the International Student Orientation. If you are an athlete, separate arrangements may be made due to your team’s schedule. Please contact our office at email@example.com to confirm your arrangement.
Please bring following original documents to the International Student Orientation:
- F-1 Student Visa Stamp (in your passport)
- I-20, Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student
- Housing License form
- I-94, Arrival-Departure Record, Electronic Registration Printout
(U.S. Immigration is currently transiting to an electronic Arrival-Departure Record system. If you do not receive I-94 card upon entering the U.S., you will be required to login to a computer and print out a copy.
Regular Orientation - Session IV - Click here to view schedule
All first year international students are required to attend the Regular 1st Year Orientation Session IV on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 provided by Parent and Family Program. All transfer international students are required to attend the Regular Transfer Orientation Session IV on Friday, August 30, 2013. Please visit www.stmarys-ca.edu/orientation to register. If you are an athlete, you may be able to attend earlier orientation if arrangements are made in advance.
All international Students including Transfer students are required to take the Math and English placement exams regardless of your country of citizenship or prior coursework. Placement exam will be part of International Student Orientation and is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27, 2013.
Writing Placement Test: You are automatically registered for the writing placement exam as part of the International Student Orientation on August 27th so there's no need for you do to do anything.
Math Placement Test: This is bit confusing so please contact the CIP office if you have any questions. When you are registering for the New or Transfer Regular Orientation Session IV, you will be able to sign up for the Math placement test. Please select August 22nd date. Any of the two time slots are accpetable. However, your test date will be automatically moved to August 27th, and you will take your exam on August 27th although you signed up for August 22nd. We apologize for this confusion cause by our system. If any of you are confused, please simply sign up for the August 22nd with an understanding that the actual test will be held on August 27th.
