This workshop will help prepare you to teach a Jan Term 2013 class in which students…

• Serve in the local community, participate in a domestic or international service immersion, or conduct community-based research AND/OR
• Explore social justice issues and the meaning of “the common good"

Description: This hands-on, interactive workshop will help faculty conceptualize and begin to plan classes that include community engagement components and/or focus on social justice and the common good.

Participants:  ALL faculty members who are contractually obligated to teach a Jan Term course in 2012 are invited to participate.

Stipend:  Receive $100 for participating in this workshop and proposing a new Jan Term course that receives Engaged Course Designation.
