College Archives contains a variety of collections pertaining to the history of the College. Collections focus on the evolution of the campus of the College from San Francisco to Oakland in the 19th century and to Moraga in the 1920s, sports history, and notable alumni and faculty, as well as administrative histories of the College. 

Administrative Organization of Collections

The Archives is currently in the process of reorganizing Archives documents from a topical flat file to a hierarchical schema based on traditional Archives organizational principles, with the following main divisions:

  • Administration (e.g. President's Office)
  • Schools (e.g. School of Liberal Arts)
  • College-wide Committees (e.g. Academic Senate)
  • College-wide Departments (e.g. Library)
  • Related Organizations (e.g. Alumni Association)
  • Centers and Cross-Disciplinary Units (e.g. Center for Fiduciary Capitalism)
  • Athletics (e.g. Intramural Sports)
  • Alumni Individuals
  • Faculty and Staff Individuals
  • College Publications (e.g. Collegian)
