The Composition sequence of English 3, 4, and 5 provides students with writing skills and strategies they will use throughout their years at Saint Mary's.
The Writing Requirement
All Saint Mary’s freshmen (except those enrolled in Integral) take an English class during their first semester. Placement in English courses is determined by entrance exam scores. Completion of English 4 and 5 is required for graduation. For some students, completion of English 3 will be a prerequisite for English 4.
