The Contra Costa Times features an op-ed by Global Marketing Professor Tomas Gomez-Arias on the impact of the economic slowdowns in Europe and Asia on the Bay Area. Gomez-Arias observes that while the Euro-zone stall as a result of the meltdown of the economies of Spain and Greece are of great concern, slowdowns in China and India may be have a more direct impact on the Bay Area's economy.

In addition to teaching in SEBA's Graduate Business Program, Gomez-Arias is the director of Saint Mary's Center for the Regional Economy, which examines the economic status of the East Bay area and the Pacific Rim.
