Story by Michael Boele
As Indian summer sets on the Moraga campus, there has been a cornucopia of activities. Inauguration Week was the highlight of early fall, with many special events (congratulations again, Brother Ron!). Among the highlights of alumni events this fall, the Grand Wine Tasting in August brought back memories of an event that has been missing for more than a decade, and successfully raised funds for general and Lasallian scholarships. The Alumni Awards and Faculty Fellowship Awards were combined this year for a great evening honoring outstanding members of our community. Alums and friends also came together for a fun-filled day at the races at Golden Gate Fields in October, and Career Information Night provided a full slate of options for students.
Two great programs of the College are preparing to celebrate 50 years on campus in 2006, the Integral Program and the Rugby Club. Keep posted to the SMC Web site for activities honoring these two programs.
Your alumni board of directors has decided to embark on a five-year strategic plan to better serve the College and its alumni. If you would like to see a particular area addressed, send your thoughts and comments to the Alumni Relations office, firstname.lastname@example.org.
For those of you who haven’t checked out the Jerome Web portal, do so; it is awesome and a great way to keep up with your fellow Gaels.
The winter and spring will be full of many more activities, so stay tuned and go Gaels!
