Challenged by any opportunity to create a smooth functioning organization, Chris is passionate about "Creating a World Class Operation," with business process improvements through continuous and never ending quality initiatives and improvements (CANEQIAI) and high-level relationship building, including:
• Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) seven criteria of management systems (Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer Focus, Measurement, Analysis and Knowledge Management, Workforce Focus, Operational Focus and Results) to build staff self-equity and organizational equity.
• Balanced Scorecard Plus perspectives for metrics and performance measures (Using Kaplan and Norton’s four criteria of Financial, Customer Focus, Internal Processes, Innovation and Growth and adding two of his own criteria--Information Technology and Knowledge Management) to develop critical success factors (CSFs) through focused key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Lean & Six Sigma principles and methodologies for optimal benefit for the university by reducing waste, removing non-value added processes, mistake and error proofing and establishing a near- perfection modus operandi towards a zero variance.
Chris is an APPA Fellow and past APPA President 2006--APPA Leadership in Educational Facilities and MAPPA (Midwest Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers) President in 2004. He studied Physics at St. Xavier's College in Calcutta, India. He received a Bachelor's in Architecture in 1964 with honors from the National Engineering Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Bengal, India. Chris received a University of California Regent's fellowship in 1964, received his Master's Degree in Architecture (focused on systems analysis application an operational research) from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1965.
Chris is a global coach, trainer, speaker and lecturer on improving business processes, management systems. In addition he has written "Manual Selection for Design Consultants"(1980), "Leadership in Educational Facilities Administration" (APPA 2007), and "Customer-Driven Operations Managment" (McGraw-Hill 2009).
