Event Description: 

Who: Brian Teare is the recipient of fellowships from Wallace Stegner, National Endowment for the Arts, and MacDowell Colony. He has published poems in /Ploughshares, Boston Review, Provincetown Arts, VOLT, Verse /and The Gertrude Stein Awards in Innovative Poetry, among other publications. He is the author of two books of poems: /Sight Map, /his latest, and /The Room Where I Was Born, /which won the 2003 Brittingham Prize and the 2004 Triangle Award for Gay Poetry. He lives in Oakland and is on the graduate writing faculties of the New College of California and California College of the Arts.
