Who: Glen David Gold is the author of Carter Beats the Devil, which was a New York Times Notable Book of 2001. A graduate of the University of California, Irvine's writing program, he lives in Oakland, California with his wife, Alice Sebold. His short stories have appeared in a number of issues of McSweeney's. He has written an episode of the cartoon Hey Arnold, and a comic book story about Will Eisner's creation The Spirit, which appeared in DC Comic's The Spirit #13. His new novel is Sunnyside.
