Who: Ashley Capps was born and raised in North Carolina and received her M.F.A. from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. The author of "Mistaking the Sea for Green Fields," which won the 2005 Akron Poetry Prize, Capps has held fellowships from the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing and the Iowa Arts Council.
