Dance Magazine Covers LEAP's Dance Course in South Africa
Dance Magazine, the nation's foremost magazine on all aspects of dance, reports on last summer's "Dance South Africa," a unique 2011 summer travel course in SMC's Liberal Education for Arts Professionals (LEAP) program.
The magazine article "Making It Happen: LEAPing Toward Change,” profiles Kristine Elliot, an adjunct professor, and graduate of the LEAP program. Elliot along with LEAP founder Claire Sheridan and six Saint Mary's students, traveled to South Africa in June 2011 to teach and interact with young at-risk dancers from impoverished townships outside of Cape Town.
