In June, Diana Wu of School of Economics and Business Administration (SEBA) was awarded Emeritus Professor status by former President Brother Ronald Gallagher.
Professor Wu has been a pillar among Saint Mary’s faculty, having taught at SMC for over three decades in the field of business management. Wu—who specialized in organizational psychology, international business, and China—has had a historic and distinguished tenure in the School of Economics and Business Administration. From 1986 to 1989, Wu was the chair of the Business Administration Department, becoming both the first woman and first minority to hold the position. In 1997, Wu’s book Asian Pacific Americans in the Workplace—a collection of case studies, personal accounts and interviews focusing on the unique position of Asian Pacific Americans in U.S. workplace—was published by Altamira Press.
“Professor Wu was nominated with tremendous support from the faculty and administration. We are delighted that Professor Wu is being recognized with this well-deserved honor,” said Dean Zhan Li of the School of Economics and Business Administration.
