Does God Exist?
Interrogatories and Conversation with Michael Tooley’s contributor to the volume, Knowledge of God (Great Debates in Philosophy), offers a powerful argument from evil against the rationality of belief in an omniscient, omnipotent, morally perfect being.
Saint Mary’s undergraduates from Philosophy 170: The “New Atheism, Examining the Arguments” have converted their study of Dr. Tooley’s argument into a set of formal “Interrogatories” to which Dr. Tooley will respond in public conversation with the students.
Members of the SMC community, friends, alumni, and the general public are cordially invited attend, and join the conversation.
A Sesquicentennial “Great(est) Conversation(s)” event, sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs and Provost, Dr. Bethami Dobkin; additional support is owing to the Bishop John S. Cummins Institute for Catholic Thought, Culture and Action and to the Department of Philosophy, Saint Mary’s College.
Copies of the “Interrogatories” can be obtained via e-mail: scortrig@stmarys-ca.edu.
