All Saint Mary's College residence hall rooms are equipped with high-speed data connections to the Internet. In addition to Internet access, students in residence halls can also access the St. Mary's network, including the Intranet site-SMCnet. 

SMCnet provides a wide range of academic tools and data, announcements, information, and communication to the community at large (smcnet.stmarys-ca.edu).

To use ResNet all residential students will need to bring:

    • A computer with a network card (Ethernet) and browser software (such as Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator)

    • A Cat 5 Data Cable (Ethernet) at least 15' long (you may want to wait until you move in so you can buy the correct length cable for your room set up). These cables are commonly available in computer stores, and the SMC Bookstore will stock a variety (in length) of data cables.
