Crimes/Assaults

Any and all types of crimes are to be reported to Public Safety.
Public Safety will assist in determining what action should be taken
and will document all incidents.

Criminal or suspicious activities:

  1. Do NOT attempt to apprehend or interfere with the criminal except in case of self-protection. If possible, make mental or actual notes describing the individual involved.
  2. Call Public Safety by dialing (925) 631-4282 from any campus phone, or by using the emergency Blue Light phones located around campus.
  3. Give your name, location and phone number, and advise them of the situation. Please remain on the line until directed to hang-up.

ASSAULTS:
Assaults are often a crime of opportunity. Try not to create the opportunity.

  1. If you are working after hours, or on weekend, notify Public Safety on your arrival, advise of your location, and approximately how long you will be working. This will help the Public Safety officer on patrol know you are present.
  2. Lock the door of the room in which you're working, if possible.
  3. When leaving a building at night use Public Safety to escort you to your car after dark.
  4. Report all known assaults or attempted assaults to any member of the campus community to the Public Safety department immediately.
