How is an exchange program different than a traditional study abroad program?

Saint Mary’s College of California has established exchange agreements with Akita International University (Akita),  BES La Salle (Barcelona) and Sophia University (Tokyo) to encourage diversity on our campus and abroad.  Saint Mary’s College receives international students from our exchange partners and, in turn, sends domestic students to study at the host campus abroad. Exchange programs can be for a semester or academic year. 

Exchange students will pay tuition at their home institution and the housing costs at the host institution or country.
